Seven School Wonders

The Department of Education of our Government organizes every year some extra activities. These activities are designed to “educate” students in a different way in some extra curricular aspects. Some of these activities we take part in , are:

 

o       School Concerts.

o       White Week

o       Iñigo Arista

o       An English Theatre Play

 

SCHOOL CONCERTS.

These concerts are specially organized for students during the school week.

The concerts are different for each level. At the beginning of the school year, each school can organize its own concerts and we use to go with all students.

Students like going to School Concerts quite a lot. As the Concerts normally are in the morning, teachers complete the journey with another activity for them.

Before going to the Concerts, the Music teacher in the Music classes prepare the concert, so students know “things” about them.

This Concert is for students in Nursery School and First Cicle, so they are from 3 to 7 years old students.

The day of the Concert, students leave school by bus and go to the Music Hall in Barañain, a village close to Pamplona.

They are in the Music Hall.

 

 

After the concert they go to a “Chiqui-Park”. They have their sandwiches there and after that they have a lot of fun.

 

This is a very nice experience for all of them..

 

THE WHITE WEEK.

This week is for older students. In our school is an activity for our students in their last school year.

The aim of this activity is to teach students the first steps in skiing and to live together with students from another schools from different villages of Navarra.

 

From Monday to Friday we go to a village in the North of Navarra, Isaba or Ochagavía, and they have their first lessons.

In the morning students have ski lessons and in the afternoon they have different workshops, local sports, handicrafts and  they study about the area we are in.

 

In the last ast evening there is a farewell party with all students, teachers and monitors and everyone gets a diploma.

 

 

 

 

 

IÑIGO ARISTA

This activity is organized by a private company in collaboration with the Goverment.

It’s for students in Class 5. A bus comes to our school and a school near ours, San Adrián or Cárcar and goes to another area of  Navarra. One year they go to the North, next year they go to the East and so on.

When they arrive to the place, students have to work. They have a special notebook and they take notes; about the landscape, the nature, the local people….

They also visit the most representative building or places in the area.

This year our students go to the Plazaola.

They visited San Miguel de Aralar, a chapel where you can visit now its famous altarpiece, robbed some years ago by Eric the Belgian and fortunately retrieved to the chapel.

 

This chapel and its Saint Patron is very well appreciated by mountaineers.

In the afternoon all the school meet together for lunch in a school of this area, and after lunch each school perform an activity for the others. Some music, jokes, dancing,…

 

AN ENGILSH THEATER PLAY.

 

This activity is organized by the school. The English teachers choose a play in English for our students. A private company performs some plays for all kind of students. We decided which one is the most appropriated for us and we apply for it. Normally the play is performed in Pamplona or Logroño, big cities near Andosilla and we go there. As the play is in the morning, we organized some other activities for the afternoon.

We went this year to Logroño. The play was “The magic of Oz”.

First we prepared the play at school in order to our students become more confident with the play and also to take part in the play.

These plays, specially adapted for students, give kids the opportunity of participate in the play. And we were very lucky because one of our students took part in the play in the role of Tin Man.

And he did really well. He looked like a real actor.
